The walk commences at the Black Swan (aka as theMucky Duck’ ) BD9 4LD on Frizinghall Road, Bradford.        Walk Location

From Bradford, heading towards Keighley on the A650 and towards Saltaire; you will pass the park on your left hand side. Having passed Bradford Grammar School on your right hand side turn right at the traffic lights down Frizinghall Road. There is very limited parking at the pub, but having gone through the first chicane there is ample road parking on the right hand side of the road with the pub some 50 yards further down. Don’t go into the car park of the defunct Old Barn PH where you will see T. Barrons removal vans (red).

From Shipley, on the A650 towards Bradford and as above, turn left down Frizinghall Road opposite the Turf public house and the Norman Arch where we shall enter the park on the walk.

The Walk:

The walk takes us up to Lister Park (Manningham Park to the locals), around the lake with a good view of the main building Cartwright Hall and then out of the park to Park Drive and the top of Heaton Woods. Having gone through the woods, we exit near the top of Shay Lane then down Leyands Lane/Emm Lane and back through the park and Frizinghall Road to the ‘Mucky Duck’.

The Pub:

The Black Swan offers some hand pulled beers along with the usual electronic selections and a good range of bar snacks and meals. Usual arrangement in selecting our meal(s) before setting off on the walk.
